Five Glowy Looks For Date Night

Whether it’s dinner and a movie or a spontaneous hike up a mountain, we want to make sure your beauty game is on point. Yes, we know, one doesn’t need a date night as an excuse to get all glammed up, but you have to admit, they’re lots of fun. And rather exciting. Especially if it’s with a crush. Even if you’re not an avid make-up wearer, we’ll help you amp up your everyday look into something special with these five glowy looks. Who knows? One of them could become your future signature style.

Look 1: A romantic dinner

We want your eyes to be the hero of this make-up look while you’re gazing at your beloved in the candlelight. This eyeshadow quad from Estée Lauder is made up of the most universal shades for your eyes in both shimmery and matte finishes. Experiment with the hues by either dusting a subtle wash of colour across the lids or building a bronze smokey eye look from scratch – see what you’re in the mood for. Finish it off by lining the eyes with brown eyeliner to keep the look soft but whimsical.

Look 2: A movie

Although movie dates are casual, we still reckon a little effort should be made. Cue the ‘no make-up make-up’ trend. Skip the heaviness of a foundation and opt for a lightweight tinted moisturiser that keeps the skin hydrated instead (remember, movie cinemas have air conditioners that could dry your skin out). They’re also great for evening out skin tone and lightly concealing any blemishes. Add a swipe of lip tint to the lips for a pop of colour. It’s subtler than a lipstick but not as glossy as a lipgloss. And it’s ideal if you’re drinking a Slush Puppie! If you know, you know.

Look 3: A beach walk

A stroll on the beach can only mean one thing: sunsets. Glorious, glowing sunsets with hues of pink, orange, yellow and gold. Use this colour palette to inspire your make-up look for the evening by rocking a cream-based blush on your cheeks. It’s a great product for enhancing radiance. Keep your complexion feather-light by wearing a serum-infused foundation with a SPF. This hybrid product adds a thin veil of coverage to the skin while making it appear flawless. We’re obsessed. And if it’s windy, wear your hair up and ditch the lipgloss!

Look 4: A hike

…but make it beauty. And by that, we mean adding some volume to your gorgeous lashes while you’re marching up the mountain. Choose a long-wearing formula with no indication of fall-out – the last thing you want is raccoon eyes in front of your crush. You should also keep your lips ultra-hydrated with this plumping gloss stick. It’s super compact and won’t take up any space in your backpack.

Look 5: An indoor activity

We’ve saved the best for last. If your date night involves a games arcade, a round of putt-putt or ten-pin bowling, be prepared to haul out your brights because we want you to go bold with make-up. Line your lids with electric blue, emerald green or pastel-purple shades and let your inner playfulness shine through.
