We mostly have Hailey Bieber to thank for this, who famously coined latte make-up and strawberry-girl make-up, both of which went viral in 2023. Not long after that, cherry-cola make-up was another edible trending look. What all three have in common is the monochromatic looks that rely on one main colour, such as toasty browns and ripe reds. The latest one, however, is probably one of the most indulgent yet. Get ready for chocolate brown!

There are few things in life more decadent than chocolate. In fact, the average person eats almost one kilogram of it each year. Now, it’s the beauty shade that has been predicted to dominate 2024.
It all started with hair, with more people opting for deep, rich browns over harsh black and hard-to-maintain blonde. It has since moved further down onto our faces and hands, where it’s taking over our eyes, lips and fingernails.

This colour brown is popular for enhancing the eyes. It is less harsh than black and can be used to create a smokey, sultry look. Using brown eyeliner can also be more flattering, especially if you have fair skin, as it makes your eyes pop, but without the heavy, goth-like finish.
