Every year, the global colour authority, Pantone, names one (or more) of their shades as being the Colour of the Year. Usually announced in December of the year prior, it is selected from their enormous catalogue to serve as a visual representation of the mood for the next 12 months. Naturally, it also dictates many trends, from interior design to fashion and beauty.
For 2024, the colour that has been chosen is called 13-1023 Peach Fuzz.
As the name suggests, it’s a velvety and gentle shade of peach. According to the organisation, it captures “our desire to nurture ourselves and others and enrich heart, body and mind”. As it happens, this hue is also a great and easy one to incorporate into your beauty looks, either for a pop of colour or to create a monochrome ‘beat.

On your cheeks
When it comes to cheeks, this colour admittedly looks best on those with a fair skin tone. On darker skin, it could end up looking ashy. For best application, apply your blush not just to the apples of your cheeks but extend it outwards and slightly up towards your temples. This will give you a more natural-looking flush.
On your eyes
For pretty peepers, give them a pop of pastel! This light shade is a great choice for eyeshadow. On darker skin, prep and prime your eyelids with white eyeshadow first to make the peach look perfect. On fairer skin, this colour can add some barely there warm colour that works in every season.
On your lips
This colour is popular when it comes to the lips. It can be worn on darker skin tones to make a statement. On fairer skin, it can serve as a decent nude shade for minimal looks. If bold, opaque colour isn’t your thing, try a lip gloss or tinted balm for a sheer wash of this fun and flattering peach colour.
