Alpha-hydroxy acids
One of the best dermatological treatments for acne scarring is a chemical peel (or a course of them). This is because it provides a deep exfoliation that helps to dissolve the bonds holding dead skin cells in place, encouraging them to shed. Using alpha-hydroxy acids – or AHAs – regularly as part of your routine can give you a similar effect in a safe way and keep your face radiant.
Retinoids
Retinoids – the most common of which is known as retinol – are the only topical ingredients that have been proven to diminish signs of ageing and improve acne and skin clarity.
