The Edgars Beauty Hub Eds adore a nail trend; be it an iridescent donut-glaze finish, an inverse French tip or a classic, short length with just a hint of *shimmer*. But what we love the most? The way people adapt a particular nail trend to suit their individual style. So we’re here to encourage you to do the same, with a particular emphasis on neutral nail colours.
You don’t have to be bold with your nails in order to stand out. Neutrals, pastels and nudes speak volumes too. It all depends on how you wear them. The minimalist nail has made a return and we’re all for it – not only do they look effortlessly chic, they’re super easy to maintain and are the best colour option if you have short nails. Subtle nail colours, such as beige, brown, tan, pale pink or white, work throughout the seasons and are the safest, most fool-proof option for a special event such as a wedding or birthday.
Here’s a handy tip to find your perfect shade: take a look at the veins on your wrist. Are they blue or purple? Yes? That means you are cool toned. If you notice they’re more green, then you’re warm toned. Jewellery can also assist in finding out what tone your skin is. If gold jewelry looks luminous and glowy on your skin, it’s most likely that you’re warm toned. If it doesn’t, you’re cool toned.
There are no specific rules with nail colour though. Wear the colour that catches your eye. Experiment. Just remember to keep the lengths even, perfectly shaped and tidy at all times. Once you’ve achieved this, apply your colour and you’re good to go. We’re sure you’ll nail it!
