Whether it’s matte or shine, bold brights or barely there nudes, lipsticks remain a classic in any make-up collection and always make us feel the part once applied. We’re often inundated with ‘lipstick rules’, but the truth is, wear the colour you want, whenever you want.
If you’re looking for some guidance, here’s what we swear by:
– Lipstick shades with a blue (cool) undertone make your teeth appear whiter.
– Matte formulas have longer wear than sheen ones, but – here’s the catch – keep your lips hydrated at all times to prevent dry cracks appearing.
– Create your own custom shade by blending lipsticks together.

Lipgloss
Back in the day, lipglosses were known to dry out the lips with their formulations. In 2024, we’ve been spoiled with innovative products containing ingredients like hyaluronic acid to keep the lips moisturised and protected while adding a glossy sheen. To prolong the wear of your lipgloss (yes, it’s possible!), fill your lips in with a neutral-coloured lipliner and then set with powder. Add two coats of lipgloss and watch your ‘gloss stay all day. Avoid the wind at all costs though…
Lip balm
The number one job of a balm is to nourish the lips. They’re a must during extreme weather conditions, be it hot or cold, as they provide a protective barrier and lock in moisture. Keep one in your handbag at all times and reapply when you need to. Bonus points if you choose one with a built-in SPF.

We’ve saved the best for last! Love them or loathe them, lip oils have become a favourite amongst consumers over the past few years. They’re all over social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, but are they worth the hype? We’d like to give a resounding yes, as they give the lips intense hydration and protection against environmental nasties. They also leave them feeling soft and supple. It’s definitely worth adding one (or more) to your shopping cart.
