What To Do If You’re In A Fragrance Rut

Have you been wearing the same scent since forever and feel like you’re in a fragrance rutDo you feel like a change but you’re not sure where to start?

Admittedly, we’re spoiled for choice in today’s fragrance world with new launches happening every month. It can be overwhelming though. Sticking to familiar favourites is easier, but there’s nothing quite like uncovering the notes of a brand-spanking-new perfume.

That’s why we recommend venturing out of your fragrance comfort zone and kick-starting 2023 with a new scent. Use these tips to get started:

TIP #1

Try the samples. They’re there to be trialed and tested. The true scent of a fragrance is best tested directly onto your skin, not a fragrance blotter.

TIP #2

Chat to the experts. Let the consultant at your favourite perfume brand counter walk you through the other fragrance options. Tell her or him what your preferences are and be open to trying new scents. You may discover something new.

TIP #3

Learn how to fragrance layer. Fragrance layering is applying complementary scented body products onto your skin to create a bespoke scent. Dabble with different body oils, body creams and fragrances to discover new, exciting note combinations.

TIP #4

Use this quick note guide and see which notes complement your favourite scent group best:
