Elie Saab is a world-famous Lebanese designer best-known for his gorgeous, flowy, feminine designs and womanly fragrances. He shot to international stardom when he designed the iconic dress Halle Berry wore to the 74th Academy Awards in 2002. She ended up walking away with the Oscar in the timeless sheer crimson gown.
And his philosophy? "I like 'womanly women' ," he explains. "Women who twirl their dresses with desire and pride."
This Women’s Day, we pay tribute to the gorgeous fragrances he is well known for.
The first fragrance that was launched by the Lebanese haute couture designer was simply called Le Parfum. After 279 trial versions, an ultra-feminine, flowery-woody composition was selected and signed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. The perfume has notes of orange blossom, jasmine, grandiflorum and sambac. The base of the perfume consists of cedar, patchouli, rose and honey.
